About This Position
Job Summary
Onsite Neonatal Partners is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Newborn Hearing Screener to join our healthcare team at St Luke's Hospitals in Allentown, Easton and Quakertown. It is required that all candidates be able to commute and work at all three locations listed. In this vital role, you will perform early hearing screenings on newborns to identify potential hearing impairments promptly, ensuring timely intervention and support. You will contribute to the health and development of infants, providing peace of mind to families and healthcare providers alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the youngest patients and their families.
You will be trained to conduct hearing screen tests, communicate test results with parents and clinicians, educate on post-discharge follow-up as needed, and assist with data inputting and billing. You will be reporting to the Hearing Screen Coordinator at St. Luke’s Hospital. This position would be ideal for someone with experience working in a healthcare/daycare environment or wanting to work while their children are in school. We will provide all newborn hearing screener training.
This is a daytime per diem/part time position, some weekends are required, and a shared responsibility of the team. Evening shifts are not available.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive hearing screenings on newborns using specialized equipment that we will train you to use.
- Accurately document screening results, ensuring clear communication with parents and healthcare teams.
- Newborn or Pediatric experience preferred, general healthcare background or childcare experience required.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and compassion when handling infants.
- Must have a somewhat flexible schedule, including the ability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays. Passion for providing family-centered customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and effectively prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
- Ability to perform accurate and timely data entry

- Excellent patient service and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach tailored to newborns and their families.
- Ability to perform accurate hearing screens and interpret screening data effectively after training.
- Effective communication skills for explaining procedures clearly and empathetically to parents.
