About This Position
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN); The ARPN must have completed a Nurse Practitioner Program. A master's degree is nursing id preferred. Five years of nursing experience (three of which are in public health nursing or related field) is preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience (three of which are in public health nursing or related field) related to the above describe duties.
AND
Licensure:
Must valid Louisiana License or Temporary Permit to practice Professional Nursing
Louisiana State Board of Nursing AND
Collaborating Physician
Must have a current collaborating agreement with a qualified physician
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of the Family Nurse Practitioner will include but are not limited to:
Provide medical management to patients under the supervision of the Medical Director including assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Order diagnostic lab work and X-rays in accordance with standard protocols.
Performs routine procedures in with standard protocols.
Refer patients to the physician for more extensive treatment and diagnostic work-up based on assessment.
Attend professional educational programs to maintain and advance professional and patient- care skills.
Perform duties in a professional manner. All applicable federal and state laws will be observed, and the Family Nurse Practitioner will adhere to all the ethical standards of the nursing profession.
Adhere to EXCELth, Inc's policies regarding quality improvement, practice policies, clinical guidelines and maintenance of appropriate, legible and timely written patient records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Full, unrestricted Louisiana Nursing License. Federal DEA Clean background
o malpractice history.
Board Certification
Current CPR (BLS) certification
Medicaid and Medicare Provider Number
