Job Title: Summer Banking/Marketing College Intern - Hannibal
Reports To: SVP/Regional Market Manager NEMO
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Paid Internship)
Summary:
Join us for a rewarding journey around the Bank to learn what it is like to see how a Bank works. Working with different departments within a bank and experiencing how the different departments work together to meet the needs of our clients, you will support Commercial Lending and Retail. You will have the opportunity to meet with senior leaders and managers bank-wide and gain networking opportunities with individuals who have a deep banking background. We are looking for individuals who are goal-driven, excited to learn, and want to operate in a teamwork-based environment. Additionally, Intern may have an opportunity to visit multiple branch locations in our markets: Northeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, St. Charles, and St. Louis.
The overall goal is for our Summer College Interns to learn about Royal Banks of Missouri by completing weekly assignments around what you learn and experience, creating weekly social media posts, and a putting together a final project.
Specific Work Areas:
You have the opportunity to work in the Hannibal market supporting our banking and marketing activities.
Availability/Schedule:
Monday, June 8 – Friday, July 31, 2026
Monday-Friday (32 – 40 hours/week)
8:45am-4:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Retail Branches- Learn to cross-sell bank services, understand the various types of accounts and certificates, interest, and compounding rates. You will also gain experience in assisting our clients via our virtual banking portals.
  • Marketing- Learn about marketing bank products, posting on social media and following advertising regulations. Create and make weekly social media posts with our Marketing team.
  • Loan Department – Shadow our loan officers and learn the process of building client relationships, prospecting, and putting together loan details.
  • Treasury Management Department- Work with members of our treasury department and learn about various products and services that can help businesses. Learn the d
  • Bank Management - Meet with senior leaders to learn how the bank is run.
  • Community Reinvestment – Learn how the bank gives back to our communities.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reports to work punctually as scheduled.
  • Submit assignments to manager on a weekly basis and as requested.
  • Work in various branch locations.
  • Complete financial educational courses through Banzai, BAI, and CSI online learning courses.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
  • Comply with all bank policies, regulations and laws applicable to carrying out duties and responsibilities.
  • Keeps strict confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a collegiate degree program with an emphasis in Banking or Marketing.
  • Prefer students entering their Junior or Senior year.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic PC skills-MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • Intermediate level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Intermediate level organizational skills
  • Flexible, team player, self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task
