Heavy Equipment Operator - 2nd Shift at Blue Island Recycling, LLC – Blue Island, Illinois

Blue Island Recycling, LLC is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator for our 2nd shift operations. This position will primarily operate a shear crane used to process scrap metal but may also be required to operate heavy equipment including loaders and mobile material handlers.

This role is best suited for individuals who have prior experience operating heavy euipment in an industrial environment and who are comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced scrap yard setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate a shear crane to process scrap metal meterials
- Load, move, and organize materials throughout the yard
- Operate loaders and/or mobile material handlers as needed
- Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with general yard operations when needed

QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment
- Experience operating mobile material handlers, cranes, and loaders
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to safety and equipment operation procedures
- Must be dependable and able to work the full scheduled shift

WORK SCHEDULE
Monday - Friday
2:00 PM - 2:30 AM
*Schedule subject to change based on operational needs.

STARTING PAY
$20.00 per hour

- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screnning
- Must be able to safely operate heavy equipment
