- The Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Operational is the main point of contact for technical operations and is
- responsible for all aspects of data center operations related to critical and non-critical infrastructure, equipment, and
- systems. They will support the training and strengthening of the CFT staff and the cultivation of a critical mindset
- throughout the Facility crew.
- The SME – Operational is the main responsible for driving correct procedural work in correspondence with both the
- Clients and T5 policy. They will coordinate and support third-party vendors in the correct procedural course of action
- as it relates to working on-site and for the client.
- The SME - Operational will drive continual improvements to the operational excellence of the data center by leading
- by example by adhering to company standards and industry best practices. They will play a key role in planning and
- allocating resources to the daily works on site as it adheres to the scheduled PM brought forward by the SME –
- CMMS.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as stand-in Critical Facilities Supervisor when that position is absent or vacant
- Lead appropriate leveled procedures program, fully consistent with both client and T5 policies.
- Fully competent in developing EOPs, MOPs, and SOPs
- Supervise and mentor correct procedure development
- Develop and maintain approval flow to ensure only appropriate and correct procedures are presented to the client
- Coordinate PM Daily coordination with the Critical Facilities Supervisor to ensure correct carry-out of PM & Non-
- PM and Non-PM planning in close collaboration with the SME – CMMS
- Allocate CFT resources appropriately to ensure PM is carried out promptly and with adherence to the schedule brought forward by the SME – CMMS
- Daily coordination with Critical Facilities Supervisor to ensure correct carry-out of PM & Non-PM
- Create and maintain shift rotation to ensure correct CFT staffing on-site 24/7
- Drive a culture of operational excellence in close collaboration with the FOM with all tasks performed.
- Ensure the cultivation of operational excellence through relevant training, structure, and policies
- Establish and maintain correct proceedings and approval flows relating to third-party vendors
- Coordinate with third-party vendors on procedures, RAMS, SOWs, and PTWs for planned and corrective maintenance
- Take part in getting third-party work underway ensuring the work is started and completed safely
- Access CFT staff according to skills and experience and evaluate what training is necessary to develop a robust and versatile CFT crew
- Coordinate with FOM, SMEs, and site Training responsible for launching relevant training courses in a streamlined and effective manner
- When issues arise, identify appropriate parties necessary to mitigate the situation, and then observe to confirm the situation was mitigated properly
- Understanding of proper day-to-day operations and how systems act interdependently, and they are fully proficient in Clients processes, local site/campus procedures, and critical equipment operation/failure mitigation
- Respond to all emergencies appropriately and with adherence to site procedures
- Ability to support 24/7 Data Center operations in times of increased need for personnel
Complete other such duties consistent with your role as you may be assigned by the T5 leadership team
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience, required
- 5-7+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments (data center, healthcare, high-performance manufacturing, oil/gas production, etc.), with a heavy emphasis on mechanical systems and operations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required for working effectively with Facility Ops Manager (FOM), team members, vendors, and customers on a daily basis.
- Exceptional written technical proficiency to support the creation and revision of process documentation (MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs)
- Exceptional knowledge and expectance with operational excellence and critical mindset in relation to Data Center operations.
- Above average problem-solving and analysis skills for evaluating a situation, identifying solutions, and working with leadership and teammates to resolve
- Embraces a team-based mentality by building positive morale and team spirit, supporting teammates efforts to succeed, and recognizing teammates accomplishments
- Ability to drive through to full completion all assigned tasks
- Able to function effectively and maintain focus in high-pressure situations

- Has high degree of attention to detail and completes tasks on time

- Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical manuals, drawings, and sketches
Able to work proficiently and safely with hand tools and power tools

- Ability to see at close and distance ranges and the ability to see and correctly distinguish color
- Ability to lift equipment in small spaces without mechanical assistance, weighing up to 45 Kilos
- Ability to work inside and outside
