Project Engineer

Position: Project Engineer
Location/s: Richmond, VA
Duration: Full time, Direct Hire
Shift: Night Shift (Monday – Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM)
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually

Key Responsibilities
Applications Engineering:
  • Partner with sales teams and customers to collect application requirements and evaluate project feasibility
  • Provide cost estimates and lead time projections for proposals
  • Conduct detailed engineering analyses to ensure designs meet required performance standards


Design Engineering:

  • Maintain engineering documentation in compliance with AS9100-certified quality standards
  • Develop detailed drawing packages, including customer submittals and manufacturing drawings
  • Assist in creating work instructions and supporting manufacturing documentation


Project Engineering:

  • Support the transition of projects into procurement and production phases
  • Monitor components through production to ensure alignment with project specifications
  • Manage project schedules and develop qualification and testing plans
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (other engineering degrees will be considered)
  • Minimum of 2 years of product design experience in an engineered-to-order environment (internship experience may be considered)
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities
  • Practical, hands-on approach to engineering challenges with strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Autodesk Inventor/AutoCAD
