Mechanical/Welding Technician at MKB – Deshler, Ohio

Position SummaryThe Mechanical/Welding Technician is responsible for performing repairs, fabrication, and preventative maintenance on plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting overall production goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and emergency repairs on mechanical equipment and systemsFabricate parts and components as needed to support maintenance and production needsConduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset lifeTroubleshoot mechanical issues and identify root causes of equipment failuresComplete welding tasks (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication projectsRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsInspect equipment regularly and report any potential issuesMaintain accurate records of maintenance work performedFollow all safety procedures and ensure work is completed in compliance with company standardsCollaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performanceQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required2+ years of mechanical maintenance and welding experience preferredStrong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipmentWelding experience (MIG, TIG, and/or Stick) requiredAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team
