Summary of Job Function

Screens Gynecological and Non-Gynecological specimens for the detection of malignancy, premalignant conditions, atypias and inflammatory conditions,

Performs all related documentation tasks,

Performs tasks done by the Cyto Prep assistant in his/her absence,

Assumes the responsibility for supervision of Cyto Prep Assistant in the absence of Cytology Supervisor,

Job Requirements

• Has education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by CMS in the Clinical Lab Improvement Act (CLIA) of 1988 and NJSDH requirements, Unless grandfathered in by stipulations detailed in 42CFR493,1483,
• Must hold a bachelor s degree,
• Have graduated from a school of cytotechnology accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA),
• Certified in cytotechnology by an agency approved by HHS, such as the ASCP,
