Job Description

QE Solar is one of the nation's largest independent solar and BESS operations and maintenance providers, with over 15 years of operating experience. We manage 10 GW of solar and 7.5 GWh of BESS across 44 states, supporting asset owners with multi-hundred MW utility solar projects and large standalone BESS systems.

We're pure-play O&M. That focus means our entire organization is built around one thing: keeping solar and storage assets running well. Our technicians carry broad OEM certifications, and our in-house capabilities span MV/HV electrical, vegetation management, engineering, and capital improvements, to streamline asset management for project owners.

QE Solar is seeking a technically strong and detail-driven Senior Accountant to lead audit-ready GAAP reporting across our six business units (DG, Utility, Vegetation Management, MV, RAC, and Corporate). This role is the primary owner of GAAP integrity and audit readiness at QE Solar, ensuring our books and records meet US GAAP standards at all times and can withstand external audit, lender review, and transaction diligence on demand. The role also supports PE and investment banking-grade pro forma modeling as a secondary focus.

This individual will serve as a senior reviewer of staff accountant work, the primary internal liaison for external auditors, and a key partner to the Controller, CFO, and 424 Capital. The role is critical to supporting QE Solar's audit readiness, lender compliance, and acquisition integration as the company continues to scale.

Key ResponsibilitiesAudit-Ready GAAP Reporting (Primary Focus)

• Own audit readiness across all QE Solar entities, ensuring books and records meet US GAAP standards at all times, not just at year-end.

• Maintain a continuous audit-readiness posture, including organized PBC files, reconciliations, and supporting documentation available on demand.

• Apply technical accounting judgment to revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), business combinations (ASC 805), goodwill and intangibles (ASC 350), and capitalization policies.

• Serve as the primary internal liaison to external auditors, responding to inquiries, walkthroughs, and PBC requests with speed and precision.

• Maintain accounting policies, ensure consistent application across all entities, and identify areas of GAAP risk before they become audit findings.

• Support quality of earnings (QofE) readiness for transaction diligence, including sell-side and buy-side processes.

General Ledger & Month-End Close

• Own and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process across assigned entities and business units.

• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaid amortization, and intercompany eliminations.

• Review staff accountant reconciliations for cash, AR, AP, fixed assets, and balance sheet accounts.

• Maintain general ledger integrity in NetSuite and ensure proper coding across QE Solar's six business units.

Pro Forma Modeling for PE and Investment Banking (Secondary Focus)

• Support the build of PE-grade and investment banking-grade pro forma financial models, including three-statement models, LBO-ready outputs, and transaction adjustments suitable for sponsor and lender consumption.

• Support the development of pro forma financials for acquisitions, including purchase accounting, opening balance sheet construction, NWC true-ups, synergy modeling, and run-rate adjustments.

• Maintain transaction-ready data rooms with reconciled financials, supporting schedules, and audit trails that can withstand sponsor and banker diligence.

Acquisition Integration & Special Projects

• Lead purchase accounting workstreams for acquisitions, including opening balance sheet preparation, NWC reconciliation, and intangible asset valuation coordination.

• Support acquisition integration into QE Solar's chart of accounts, close calendar, and reporting structure.

• Partner with the Controller on intercompany consolidations, payroll entity rationalization, and entity simplification efforts.

QualificationsRequired

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated audit and technical accounting responsibility.

• Strong working knowledge of:

◦ US GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, and ASC 350

◦ Audit preparation, PBC management, and external auditor coordination

◦ Full-cycle general ledger accounting and consolidations

◦ Three-statement modeling and pro forma construction

• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis and sensitivity tables.

• High attention to detail with strong organizational, documentation, and review skills.

• Ability to produce work product that meets external auditor, PE sponsor, and investment banker standards.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to defend technical positions to sophisticated audiences.

Preferred

• CPA strongly preferred.

• Public accounting experience with audit background a plus.

• Transaction services, FDD, or QofE experience a plus.

• Experience in PE-backed, multi-entity, or acquisition-active environments.

• Industry experience in construction, renewable energy, field services, or O&M.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, reporting tools, and excel

• Experience supporting lender reporting, covenant compliance, board reporting, or capital markets transactions.

Key Attributes for Success

• Audit-ready mindset, every day, every entity

• Technically grounded in GAAP with practical judgment

• Detail-driven and review-oriented

• Modeling discipline that holds up under PE and banker scrutiny

• Comfortable balancing operational close work with transaction-grade deliverables

• High ownership, follow-through, and bias toward action
