Location: East Hanover, NJ on site 4 days/week, 1 day/week remote

The Opportunity

After serving the vertical transportation industry for 43 years vda is the platform company for Keystone Capital, our private equity owner. VDA has gone through tremendous growth both internally and from multiple acquisitions. We are seeking the right person to join our team as our Senior Accountant.

As a key member of the finance team, the primary duties of this position are to support the Company's controller with various daily duties and monthly closing process. In close coordination with the Controller, responsibilities include monthly account analysis schedules, bank reconciliations, posting journal entries, and other duties related to the monthly close process, including those of a newly acquired entity. The Senior Accountant will participate on projects to support new company initiatives, process improvement, automation, and integration of accounting systems of acquisitions.

Ideal Experience:

    3+ years of related accounting and financial analysis experienceHigh proficiency in Excel and MS Office suite required. Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.A hands-on, detail-oriented professional with excellent analytical skillsA team player with the self-confidence, presence and consultative skills to positively influence the businessA tenacious, operationally minded individual with a strong work ethicAn orientation toward change management and process improvement initiativesCurious and willing to explore and problem solve independently as well as collaboratively.Ability to quickly learn and work across multiple systemsPrior work experience with mainstream accounting ERP systems such as Sales Force, Oracle, Sage, and SAP. QuickBooks is a plus.

Responsibilities:

    Support month-end and year-end closing procedures including
      Preparation of bank reconciliationsPrepare and post journal entriesMaintain account analysis for fixed assets, prepaids, accruals and other balances as necessary
    Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Participate in process improvement projects and system implementations/enhancements.Support company acquisition and integration activities including operational and financial activities.Assist in completion of annual audit with external CPA firm. Function as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors; support the goals of the organization; demonstrate initiative in the interest of the company and its customers.Uphold the values of the company and its culture, consistently demonstrating professionalism, integrity and the highest standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct; conduct oneself in a manner that reflects favorably on the organization.
