Financial Planning Analysis Project Manager (Temporary)

Position Summary

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Project Manager provides analytical and financial modeling support to the Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) department, with a primary focus on planning, forecasting, revenue analysis, and management reporting. This role supports leadership decision-making by developing driver-based financial models, assisting with revenue recognition analysis, and preparing recurring and ad hoc financial reports and dashboards. The FP&A Project Manager partners closely with Accounting, Portfolio Management, Sales, Operations, and Business Development to ensure planning assumptions and outputs reflect current business realities and align with the department’s long-term revenue and equity growth goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the annual operating plan, long-range plan, and rolling forecast cycles through development and maintenance of driver-based financial models for revenue, expense, margin, and headcount.

• Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses to assess business risks, opportunities, and strategic alternatives.

• Assist with revenue recognition analysis by tracking deal-level activity, reviewing revenue schedules, and supporting consistent application of accounting guidance.

• Provide focused analytical support for Cell Therapy Factory and Alliance revenues, including revenue tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly management reports, KPI dashboards, and executive-level financial summaries.

• Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic initiatives, investment planning, and leadership decision-making.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate assumptions, align operational inputs with financial outputs, and resolve data discrepancies.

• Maintain clear documentation of financial models, assumptions, and methodologies to ensure transparency, consistency, and auditability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Life Sciences, or a related field.

• Minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, or financial modeling in a corporate, healthcare, life sciences, or innovation-driven environment.

• Building and maintaining driver-based financial models, including revenue, expense, margin, and headcount forecasting.

• Applying revenue recognition concepts to analyze deal-level activity, revenue schedules, and timing consideration with accounting guidance.

• Preparing management reports, KPI dashboards, and financial analyses for leadership and decision-makers.

• Synthesizing data from multiple sources, validate assumptions, and translating complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis techniques, and financial modeling.

• Strong analytical, attention-to-detail, and documentation skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent advanced degree).

• Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or other relevant finance or project management certification.

• Experience partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
