Under the direction of the Director of Outpatient/SUD, the Same Day Access/Outpatient Clinician (SDA/OP) will provide intake services for the agency which includes providing substance use and bio-psycho-social assessments, treatment recommendations, clinical assignments, and information and referral for adults, substance use, youth, and children.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
DIRECT CLINICAL SERVICES:
The Clinician position is divided between two primary responsibilities:
- Completes intake process, including screening and provision of information, assessments, and notification for all referrals to the agency. Assesses client’s needs and makes recommendations as appropriate. Communicates with other service providers to meet individual needs, making referrals to appropriate staff & programs, and provides information to other service providers or referral sources.
- Advocate for newly hired therapists and intern by orientating them to SDA/FAST sessions. Responsible for managing adult mental health clients on waitlist. Providing follow up Bamboo Health calls within 48 hours of UCS clients being discharged from ED.
DOCUMENTATION: Completes all documentation in a thorough and timely manner according the UCS and Medicaid documentation guidelines. Completes all required documentation within the Electronic Medical Record and ensures all regulations are adhered to within the intake process. The clinician will maintain intake data and generate reports, as requested.
Completes peer reviews of client charts as time allows and assists in completing 2 year renewals of client’s biopsychosocial.
* In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, substance use, or related counseling field with experience working with a wide variety of mental health and substance use issues.
- Experience working with people of all ages.
- Licensure or eligible to pursue licensure in Vermont as Substance Use Social Worker, Psychologist, or Mental Health Professional.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Computer Skills Required: Proficient in typing and navigating, Microsoft Windows literacy, Email usage
