Position Summary

Coaches in The Avery Coonley School Athletic Department work collaboratively with their coaching partners to design and implement engaging, challenging, and fun practices.

Our coaching and game-management philosophy centers on the development of each athlete rather than a primary focus on winning. Coaches are expected to create an environment in which athletes can develop their basketball skills, build confidence, learn to work with others, and enjoy the experience of competing.

Coaches are also expected to honor the game by demonstrating respect for the rules, officials, opponents, teammates, and spectators and by modeling the sportsmanship and character we want our athletes to develop.
