PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONOperate the Press Brake accurately and efficiently while producing quality products that meet established specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Enter the necessary data into the Press Brake computer to accurately operate the machine.
- Set up the Press Brake and make adjustments or corrections as needed to maintain quality and eliminate product defects.
- Verify the correct raw material is available and matches the traveler paperwork before beginning a production run.
- Understand and proficiently operate all Press Brake controls.
- Verify all required safety guards, equipment, and procedures are in place prior to operating the Press Brake.
- Demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors in accordance with Klute Inc. safety policies and procedures. Maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times.
- Complete required reports and accurately record production and quality data.
- Inspect completed work to ensure products meet established quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and flat sheets independently.
- Ability to verify material matches traveler paperwork.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work safely and effectively with large, high-volume manufacturing equipment.
- Valid forklift operator permit.
- Ability to operate overhead cranes to load and unload conveyors.
- Standing and/or walking 100% of the workday.
- Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical and mental tasks.
- Requires repetitive movement.
- Requires frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, and controls.
- Ability to view and monitor a computer screen.
- Frequent alphanumeric keyboarding.
- Press Brake Operators must demonstrate proficiency in the position and have a minimum of 15 months of on-the-job experience.
- Perform Press Brake setup and routine maintenance.
- Identify when maintenance is needed and determine the appropriate type of maintenance required.
