Position Summary:

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading and developing the branch team while ensuring strong performance across customer service, sales, operations, inventory management, safety, and overall branch effectiveness.

This role is primarily focused on people leadership, building an engaged and accountable team, establishing clear expectations, coaching associates, and creating an environment where employees can perform at a high level. The Branch Manager also plays an active role in supporting sales growth, developing customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities within the local market.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for branch associates, establishing clear expectations, priorities, and accountability.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop associates to strengthen individual and team performance.
  • Create a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented branch culture focused on teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead branch personnel activities, including interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Regularly assess associate performance and provide timely feedback, recognition, coaching, and development.
  • Conduct branch meetings to communicate company initiatives, business priorities, performance expectations, and team goals.
  • Identify opportunities to develop associates and strengthen the branch’s overall capabilities.
  • Ensure associates have the resources, training, and support necessary to succeed in their roles.

Sales & Customer Relationships

  • Support profitable sales growth and market share expansion within the local market.
  • Monitor individual and team sales performance, providing coaching and guidance to support achievement of sales goals.
  • Regularly engage with existing and prospective customers, contractors, industrial accounts, and key decision-makers to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Partner with branch associates and other sales resources to identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop new customers.
  • Represent Loeb Electric within the local community, industry organizations, and customer events.

Branch Operations

  • Provide leadership and oversight for daily branch operations, including customer service, warehouse operations, inventory management, safety, and asset protection.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, product availability, and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Maintain responsibility for the overall condition, appearance, operation, and security of the branch.
  • Ensure the proper care and maintenance of the facility interior and exterior, grounds, equipment, inventory, fleet vehicles, and other company assets.
  • Promote safe operating practices and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve branch productivity, efficiency, and customer service.

Branch Performance & Planning

  • Develop and execute annual branch business plans focused on team performance, customer retention, sales growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Monitor branch financial performance, expenses, productivity, and key performance indicators.
  • Communicate branch goals and performance expectations to the team and ensure associates understand how their individual performance contributes to overall branch success.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement coaching, process improvements, or other corrective actions as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three years of leadership or management experience within distribution, construction, industrial, electrical, or a related industry.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop employees, and create accountability.
  • Strong coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated customer relationship management and business development capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the local market as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the electrical distribution industry.
  • Knowledge of Eclipse ERP or similar distribution software.
  • Experience leading teams responsible for both sales and operational performance.
  • Demonstrated success improving employee performance, customer relationships, and business results.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lifting/Carrying: Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull packages, products, and materials weighing up to 75 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance or material handling equipment.
  • Standing/Walking: Regularly required to stand and walk throughout the branch, warehouse, sales counter, and surrounding property, including extended periods on concrete flooring.
  • Sitting/Driving: Regular periods of sitting while performing administrative responsibilities, attending meetings, and working at a computer. May also spend periods driving to customer locations, company meetings, events, or other business-related activities.
  • Climbing/Balance: Occasionally required to climb stairs, steps, or access different areas of the branch, warehouse, or company vehicles while maintaining appropriate balance and awareness of surroundings.
  • Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching: Occasionally required to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch while inspecting inventory, equipment, facilities, or assisting with branch operations.
  • Reaching/Handling: Regular use of hands and arms for reaching, grasping, handling documents and products, operating computers and office equipment, and performing other routine branch activities.
  • Vision: Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus for computer work, reviewing documents, observing branch and warehouse operations, and driving.
  • Hearing/Speaking: Ability to hear safety signals and verbal instructions and to communicate clearly and effectively with associates, customers, vendors, and other business partners in person, by phone, and through virtual communication.
  • Environmental Conditions: Work is performed in a combination of office, sales counter, warehouse, and outdoor environments. The role may occasionally involve exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, dust, vehicle traffic, warehouse equipment, and moderate noise levels.
  • PPE Use: Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, high-visibility apparel, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, or other PPE as required by company policy, branch operations, or customer/jobsite requirements.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel within the local market to visit customers, attend meetings, participate in industry or community events, and support other business needs as required.
