About the Role
Cube Root is seeking two individuals to serve as Senior Project Manager or Project Manager (SPM/PM) to act as Owner’s Representatives, delivering full life-cycle project management services, from early planning and design through permitting, procurement, construction, and project closeout. In this capacity, the SPM/PM will support the client in delivering DC Public Schools (DCPS) capital projects, providing technical oversight, schedule and budget management, stakeholder coordination, field monitoring, and portfolio management. The SPM/PM will support major capital projects for DCPS, including new construction, major renovations, and facility upgrades.
Cube Root is looking for experienced technical project managers who are capable of and interested in operating at a portfolio level rather than assigned to specific projects. The SPM/PM shall be an individual who is confident on construction sites and capable of walking projects regularly to oversee progress, able to assist with standardizing processes across the portfolio and implement/manage team trainings, assist with cross collaboration and push initiatives with internal client groups such as Sustainability & Energy, Closeout, Warranty, and other district agencies, review financials - GMPs, PCOs, etc. and provide feedback to the Executive Program Manager (EPM) and PMs, assist with tackling DCPS portfolio wide requests or inquiries, and generally assist the EPM in managing the entire modernization portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
• Demonstrated success managing capital and/or public-sector construction projects.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects of varying scales and complexity.
• Full project lifecycle experience: planning, procurement, design, permitting, construction, turnover, and warranty.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration.
• Proven ability to coordinate with multiple agencies, contractors, design teams, and community stakeholders.
• Ability to identify issues, recommend solutions, and support decision-making.
Qualifications
• Senior Project Manager:
o Qualified professional with over 7 years of experience in the construction management field, including planning, budgeting, managing and overseeing the project life cycle of building construction projects over $7.5M with proven ability to navigate project through permitting process.
o Candidates for this position shall possess one of the following professional credentials including RA, PE, PMP, CCM, or LEED.
• Project Manager:
o Qualified professional with 4 to 7 years of experience in organizing, managing and overseeing the project life cycle of building construction projects over $7.5M
• PMP Certification or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience serving as an Owner's Representative
