PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Game One is the premier provider of apparel, gear, and equipment unifying teams and fans in schools, clubs and organizations.
JOB SUMMARY
The Department Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within assigned decoration department(s) at a Game One production facility. This position ensures department operations are efficient, safe, and aligned with quality standards, customer expectations, and production schedules. The Department Manager leads team members, coordinates workflow, and supports continuous improvement initiatives by performing the following duties personally or through team members.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Directly supervise and support department team members, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback
- Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet Safety, Quality, and delivery/output requirements.
- Communicate and collaborate with other Department Managers and Production leadership to ensure smooth workflow across departments.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing, work assignment, and overtime as needed to meet demand.
- Ensure products meet quality standards, order specifications, and customer expectations; address quality issues promptly.
- Trail team members on equipment operation, quality standards, safety procedures, and standard work practices.
- Support implementation and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and learn manufacturing principles.
- Identify and resolve routine operational, production, and equipment issues to minimize downtime and inefficiencies.
- Coordinate basic equipment care and report maintenance needs in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain department documentation related to productivity, quality, safety, and training.
- Promote a safe, organized, and positive work environment consistent with the company policies and values.
- Escalate significant issues, risks, or resource needs to the Production Manager, offering potential solutions.
- Other duties as assigned or dictated by the needs of the business.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 2-4 years of lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong operational experience, with ability to manage and lead people and processes.
- Lean Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude a definite asset.
