This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Microsoft Purview Architect – Client Consulting based in the United States.
This role is centered on designing and delivering enterprise-scale data governance and compliance solutions using Microsoft Purview across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. You will act as a senior technical advisor, helping organizations build secure, compliant, and well-governed data ecosystems aligned with regulatory and business requirements. The position combines architecture, hands-on implementation, and client-facing consulting, requiring deep expertise in data classification, retention, and risk management. You will collaborate with executive stakeholders, compliance teams, and technical architects to translate complex governance needs into scalable Microsoft-based solutions. The role offers the opportunity to shape enterprise data strategies while working across diverse industries and regulatory frameworks. It is a highly impactful consulting position focused on modern data protection, compliance automation, and cloud governance excellence.
- Design and implement end-to-end Microsoft Purview architectures for data governance, compliance, and risk management across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
- Develop and enforce data classification, retention, and protection policies aligned with internal governance frameworks and regulatory standards.
- Lead client engagements by collaborating with executive stakeholders, compliance teams, and technical architects to define solution requirements and governance strategies.
- Integrate Microsoft Purview with Azure services and Microsoft 365 workloads to ensure seamless data visibility, protection, and compliance enforcement.
- Monitor data usage, access controls, and compliance posture using Purview capabilities and recommend continuous improvements.
- Provide technical leadership, best practices, and advisory support on Microsoft Purview and broader Microsoft compliance tooling.
- Deliver training, documentation, and guidance to internal teams and clients on governance frameworks and platform capabilities.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture, security best practices, and enterprise cloud design principles.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 administration, security configurations, and compliance tooling.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including data governance, classification, retention, and compliance management.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, or similar standards.
- Strong consulting and communication skills with the ability to engage executive-level stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar tools is highly desirable.
- Preferred background includes certifications in Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 security/compliance, and exposure to tools such as Microsoft Defender, Entra, and Intune.
- Fully remote position across the United States and Canada.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $130,000 to $180,000 depending on experience and location.
