Position Summary
The Director of Ecommerce and Growth Marketing is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and executing the company's ecommerce and digital growth strategy to drive profitable revenue growth, enhance the customer experience, and maximize customer lifetime value. This role owns the overall ecommerce business, including site performance, digital marketing, merchandising strategy, promotional planning, customer acquisition and retention, conversion optimization, and ecommerce profitability.

As the leader of the ecommerce team, this individual will oversee the Shopify platform, ecommerce operations, digital marketing channels, and key agency and technology partnerships. The ideal candidate is a strategic and data-driven leader who can balance long-term growth initiatives with day-to-day operational excellence while collaborating across departments to achieve company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Ecommerce Strategy and Business Ownership
- Develop and execute the ecommerce growth strategy to drive revenue, profitability, customer acquisition, retention, and overall business performance.
- Own the ecommerce roadmap, including promotional planning, site merchandising strategy, product launches, customer journey optimization, personalization initiatives, and onsite experience enhancements.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the ecommerce business, ensuring the Shopify platform delivers a best-in-class customer experience.
- Partner with Merchandising and Creative teams to align product assortments, promotions, content, and storytelling with business goals and seasonal priorities.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, average order value, customer lifetime value, and overall site performance.

Financial Management and Performance Analytics
- Own the ecommerce P and L and overall ecommerce budget, including marketing spend, technology investments, agency fees, and platform costs.
- Lead forecasting and financial planning for ecommerce revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
- Monitor and report on key ecommerce and marketing KPIs, including revenue, traffic, conversion rate, average order value, customer acquisition cost, ROAS, customer lifetime value, and product performance.
- Utilize analytics, customer insights, and performance data to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior leadership regarding business performance, risks, and opportunities.

Digital Marketing and Customer Growth
- Lead all customer acquisition and retention efforts across paid search, paid social, affiliate marketing, SEO, email/CRM, marketplace advertising, and emerging growth channels.
- Develop integrated marketing strategies that drive profitable customer growth while maintaining brand integrity and customer engagement.
- Partner with Brand Marketing, Creative, and Influencer teams to develop and execute campaigns that support business objectives and maximize performance.
- Evaluate and implement new channels, technologies, and growth initiatives to improve marketing effectiveness and customer acquisition efficiency.

Site Experience and Optimization
- Own the overall ecommerce customer experience, including site navigation, search functionality, merchandising, product discovery, personalization, and checkout optimization.
- Lead ongoing conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives through testing, customer insights, and data-driven improvements.
- Partner with development teams and external agencies to implement site enhancements, platform upgrades, and new functionality.
- Ensure ecommerce tools and technologies are optimized to support business goals and enhance the customer experience.

Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing ecommerce team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with Merchandising, Creative, Brand Marketing, Finance, IT, Operations, and Customer Service teams to drive business results and improve the customer experience.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, technology vendors, and platform partners, ensuring strong performance and alignment with business objectives.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive activity to continuously evolve ecommerce capabilities and maintain a competitive advantage.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Ecommerce, or a related field preferred.
7–10 years of progressive experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, or performance marketing, with a proven track record of driving profitable growth.
- 5+ years of experience in retail, apparel, fashion, or omnichannel consumer brands preferred.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms and technologies, including experience with platforms such as Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or equivalent, as well as site merchandising, conversion rate optimization, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.
- Deep understanding of paid search, paid social, affiliate marketing, SEO, email/CRM, and digital analytics.
- Experience managing ecommerce P&Ls, budgets, forecasting, and business reporting.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

The expected salary range for this position is $150,000–$180,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
