Job Posting: HOPE Youth Mentoring Caseworker
Location: 2462 State Route 54A, Penn Yan, NY
Employment Type: Full Time 35 hours Days M-F with occasional evening and weekend hours.
Salary: $20.00-$22.00 an hour

General Description
Coordination and implementation of the HOPE Youth Mentoring Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruitment, screening, training and supervision of adult mentors.
- Support for mentors (“in-service” trainings, validation of mentor’s efforts, and physical and emotional support for mentors).
- Supervision and support of existing matches.
- Assess needs of referred youth to determine program enrollment.
- Provide enrollment interview and potential intake with referred youth(s) and family.
- Public presentations about HOPE to groups for recruitment purposes.
- Liaison between referring agencies, schools, families, and mentors.
- Maintain files and documentation on current matches and unmatched youth, including Program Evaluations.
Maintain accurate documentation and case management documentation in program database(s) for all program activities and participants.
- Preparation of monthly and annual program reports.
- Coordinate monthly program group outings/activities for matched and unmatched program youth.
- Provide transportation to/from program group outings/activities for youth, as needed.
- Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator with planning and implementing a yearly recognition event for mentors.
- Maintain open lines of communication with mentors and youth families.
- Attend agency annual functions as requested.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Attend mandatory training.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements:Qualifications
Education: associate’s degree or higher
Experience: Relevant professional experience with youth and families preferred. Prior experience with volunteer management preferred, but not required.
Relevant years of experience and education will be considered
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends, flexible schedule to meet program needs.
- Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier.
- Continuous use of a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle.
- Ability to prioritize assignments, plan, and complete work projects with minimal direction
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to effectively and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal/written skills
- Ability to work in the following software programs: Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple online software platforms as required by funders and partner organizations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to demonstrate behaviors and attitudes which support organizational mission, philosophy, and policies
- Ability to work in a cooperative and helpful manner with all individuals
- Willingness and ability to foster agency and program wide cooperation and teamwork through use of positive/constructive communication techniques
