Advanced Clinical Nurse

🏢 Position Overview

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager (or Executive DON, Ambulatory), an Advanced Clinical Nurse provides professional skilled age-specific nursing care for patients in collaboration with the physician and other disciplines.

The position demonstrates the professional skills and behaviors to promote comprehensive, cost-effective, and meaningful healthcare for consumers in a diverse healthcare environment. In addition, an Advanced Clinical Nurse promotes and demonstrates advancement in professional practice through additional activities such as quality improvement and leadership.

📋 Key Responsibilities

Performs all aspects of patient care, including but not limited to:

• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough, age-specific clinical assessments.
• Medication Administration: Safely administer prescribed patient medications.
• Care Planning: Identify nursing problems and develop tailored plans of care.
• Care Delivery & Delegation: Provide or delegate care according to Valleywise Health policies.
• Advocacy & Education: Function as a dedicated client advocate and health educator.
• Documentation: Complete and process all required medical documentation.
• Staff Supervision: Indirectly supervise ancillary personnel as directed.
• Quality & Teamwork: Participate in team building and quality improvement activities.

💼 Operational Requirements

• Schedule Flexibility: This position may require standby or on-call time.
