POSITION SUMMARY

Colonial Chemical Solutions, Inc.’s Business Development team is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining direct sales to both current and new customers. The use of ERP/CRM systems and other tools provided will support the identification and growth of sales opportunities and increase efficiencies. This role will ensure the company is attracting and retaining business through a thorough understanding of CCS customer needs and markets. A successful employee will be able to speak with authority on services/products offered and independently advise customers of solutions for their needs.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

  • Improve sales process working with managerial team.
  • Manage a small number of accounts professionally, utilizing technology/strategy.
  • Increase customer satisfaction and drive sales growth.
  • Maintain CRM, pricing, sales materials, and current product knowledge.
  • Expand product knowledge, continuously growing skillsets.
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate external sales colleagues.
  • Assist with customer leads, purchase histories, and sales reporting to appropriate colleagues.
  • Actively assist VP of Sales and sales team with reporting leads / opportunities.
  • Maintains an appropriate level of technical and industry knowledge of CCS products, processes, and operational procedures to ensure professional communications with customers and the marketplace in general.
  • Prepares and submits reports for sales and analytical purposes.
  • Price inquiries to contribute overall decision making and business growth as needed.
  • Provide solutions to customer requests, issues, and inquiries to assure service excellence.
  • Responsible for management and execution of RFQ’s/Bids and RFI’s to support business growth.
  • Serve as liaison with other departments to address and resolve internal and external customer and sales issues in a timely manner.
  • Assists with projects such as Customer Onboarding Portal and CRM.
  • Assists with large-scale pricing issues and account transfers.
  • Attend customer meetings as needed, create action plans, and assure timely follow up.
  • Responsible for providing the sales team with quarterly margin reports and work with them to identify buying trends, lost/increased business, or potential growth opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of successful inside sales or sales support experience; in a chemical or commodities industry preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to successfully follow up on multiple projects at a time and achieve goals in a continuously changing work environment.
  • Ability to develop new customer relationships and sustain existing relationships.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent judgement through effective and creative problem solving.
  • Must be able to exude an upbeat and positive attitude while being assertive and professional in all verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and customer relationship development skills.
