Territory Business Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Territory Business Manager based in India.

This Territory Business Manager role is a field-driven commercial position focused on expanding market presence, driving sales performance, and strengthening distribution networks across an assigned territory.
You will be responsible for executing sales strategies that impact both primary and secondary sales while ensuring strong brand visibility in the market.
The role requires close collaboration with distributors, healthcare professionals, and retail partners to drive demand generation and achieve business objectives.
You will operate in a highly autonomous environment where planning, execution, and performance tracking are critical to success.
A strong focus will be placed on ethical promotion, customer engagement, and territory-level market development.
You will play a key role in translating strategic business goals into actionable field execution.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual territory business plans aligned with sales and marketing strategies.
  • Drive primary and secondary sales while ensuring consistent achievement of assigned revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify potential markets, appoint distributors, and expand the customer base in line with business requirements.
  • Manage distributor relationships, including credit limits, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Conduct doctor and chemist engagement activities to promote products through ethical, science-based discussions.
  • Execute trade activation initiatives, retail visibility programs, sampling, and merchandising activities.
  • Organize and participate in CMEs, retail meets, and other medical or trade engagement events to support brand growth.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and prescription audits to adjust strategies and improve performance.
  • Ensure full coverage of assigned doctors and customers while maintaining CRM-based records and call plans.
  • Support new product launches by targeting relevant stakeholders and ensuring effective field execution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, life sciences, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–6 years of experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or FMCG field sales roles.
  • Strong understanding of territory management, distributor handling, and retail sales execution.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage end-to-end territory performance.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with doctors, pharmacists, and distributors.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market data and competitor activity.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 100% field-based role).
  • Self-driven, disciplined, and capable of working independently with high ownership.
  • Familiarity with pharma sales practices, ethical promotion standards, and field reporting systems.
