As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the quality strategy for a modern, enterprise-grade software platform. This position combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, allowing you to architect scalable test automation frameworks while validating complex business-critical functionality. Working closely with product managers, software engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle and help shape engineering best practices. You'll become a subject matter expert in both the application and its business domain, ensuring reliable, high-quality releases through a balanced approach to automation and exploratory testing. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced QA professional to influence technical direction while contributing to an innovative, fully remote engineering environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright for end-to-end, API, and integration testing.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, to accelerate test creation, improve automation coverage, and optimize QA workflows.
  • Perform advanced manual and exploratory testing for complex features, critical workflows, integrations, and edge-case scenarios.
  • Develop comprehensive testing strategies covering functional, regression, integration, API, and security testing while establishing quality metrics and KPIs.
  • Serve as the quality authority for the application by developing deep expertise in business processes, validating requirements, and identifying gaps before development begins.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and promote shift-left testing practices across engineering teams.
  • Lead defect management activities by identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and validating issues while collaborating with developers to drive timely resolution.
  • Mentor QA engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to strengthen team capabilities.
  • Produce detailed quality reports, dashboards, and risk assessments while communicating testing progress and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, testing methodologies, automation standards, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering roles.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Playwright for end-to-end, API, and integration test automation.
  • Hands-on experience using Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools to generate, maintain, and optimize automated tests.
  • Strong programming skills in TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • Advanced manual testing expertise, including exploratory testing and complex test scenario design.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, software architecture, API testing, Git, Jira, JSON/XML, and modern software development practices.
  • Proven ability to lead testing efforts, mentor team members, and influence engineering decisions through a quality-first mindset.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, Agile methodologies, SQL, performance or security testing, document validation, PDF processing, financial or tax software, and test management tools is considered an advantage.
Benefits
  • Fully remote position within the United States.
  • Unlimited paid vacation, sick time, and company holidays.
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Opportunity to help shape the quality strategy of a modern, high-impact software platform.
  • Collaborative startup environment focused on innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
  • Significant opportunities for professional growth, leadership, and technical ownership.
