As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing the quality strategy for a modern, enterprise-grade software platform. This position combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, allowing you to architect scalable test automation frameworks while validating complex business-critical functionality. Working closely with product managers, software engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle and help shape engineering best practices. You'll become a subject matter expert in both the application and its business domain, ensuring reliable, high-quality releases through a balanced approach to automation and exploratory testing. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced QA professional to influence technical direction while contributing to an innovative, fully remote engineering environment.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright for end-to-end, API, and integration testing.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code, to accelerate test creation, improve automation coverage, and optimize QA workflows.
- Perform advanced manual and exploratory testing for complex features, critical workflows, integrations, and edge-case scenarios.
- Develop comprehensive testing strategies covering functional, regression, integration, API, and security testing while establishing quality metrics and KPIs.
- Serve as the quality authority for the application by developing deep expertise in business processes, validating requirements, and identifying gaps before development begins.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and promote shift-left testing practices across engineering teams.
- Lead defect management activities by identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and validating issues while collaborating with developers to drive timely resolution.
- Mentor QA engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to strengthen team capabilities.
- Produce detailed quality reports, dashboards, and risk assessments while communicating testing progress and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, testing methodologies, automation standards, and engineering best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering roles.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
- Expert-level proficiency with Playwright for end-to-end, API, and integration test automation.
- Hands-on experience using Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools to generate, maintain, and optimize automated tests.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Advanced manual testing expertise, including exploratory testing and complex test scenario design.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, software architecture, API testing, Git, Jira, JSON/XML, and modern software development practices.
- Proven ability to lead testing efforts, mentor team members, and influence engineering decisions through a quality-first mindset.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, Agile methodologies, SQL, performance or security testing, document validation, PDF processing, financial or tax software, and test management tools is considered an advantage.
