Housekeeping Technician in DeMotte, Indiana at Belstra Milling Co

Belstra Milling Company is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Technician. The Housekeeping Technician is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and functional company facilities across multiple locations, including feed mills, administrative offices, maintenance shops, distribution facilities, and other company-owned buildings. This position performs routine housekeeping, grounds upkeep, and facility support tasks to ensure a professional appearance and safe working environment for employees. In addition, this position must also work in compliance with all the company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

• Perform routine housekeeping throughout the feed mill, pre-mix, warehouse, loadout, ingredient, and surrounding exterior areas to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Clean up grain, feed, dust, spills, and debris from floors, equipment, catwalks, platforms, work areas, and other facility surfaces.
• Assist with combustible dust control and general sanitation efforts using approved cleaning methods and equipment.
• Clean equipment, structural areas, and assigned workspaces during routine operations, scheduled shutdowns, and special cleanup projects.
• Maintain building entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas with snow removal and salting during winter months
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, maintenance concerns, spills, leaks, and equipment issues to supervision in a timely manner.
• Safely operate housekeeping tools, ladders, lifts, vacuums, and other assigned equipment in accordance with company procedures.

Skills and Requirements (included but not limited to):

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, climb ladders, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work in a dusty and noisy environment
• Must be able to wear a tight-fitting respirator, pass fit test and remain clean shaven

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous janitorial, maintenance, custodial, or facilities experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and minor building repairs.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
