Position Summary:
JGMS is looking for an experienced engineering hydrologist and groundwater modeler to join our client's team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Fernald
- Assistance with groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling and using PEST-PPIES at the Fernald Site
- Assistance at the Fernald site may also include help with the preparation of an annual site environmental report and technical advice in coordination with other employees.
Tuba City
- Assistance with groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling and using PEST-PPIES MOU at the Tuba City Site.
Monument Valley
- Assistance at the Monument Valley Site with groundwater flow and transport modeling, other technical analysis, and evaluation of the groundwater remedy.
- Support other groundwater modeling efforts being conducted by the staff on an as needed basis.
- Complete other hydrogeological analysis and reporting activities on an as needed basis.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in geology, hydrogeology, hydrology, or engineering.
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling including
- MODFLOW, PEST, PESTPP-IES, and PESTPP-MOU Expertise in groundwater flow and contaminant transport fundamentals
- General field characterization experience
- Working knowledge of well drilling, coring/sampling, and monitoring well installation.
- Data acquisition and evaluation experience.
- Understanding of tracer testing implementation and interpretation.
- Working knowledge of aquifer testing and analysis.
- Experience with conceptual site model development.
- Expertise in statistics and geostatistics.
- Expertise in three-dimensional visualization and evaluation using Earth Volumetric Studio.
- Expertise in programing and scripting.
- Expertise in geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, and geophysics.
- Familiarity with remedial design and evaluation.
- Knowledge of regulations and standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of sites and programmatic history preferred
- PE or PG certification
Background Check and Screenings:
