Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor

The Department of Pharmacy & Therapeutics of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated individual for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor, associate professor, or professor rank. The ideal candidate will have research experience in one or more of the following areas: outcomes research; population health; pharmacoepidemiology; health economics; health outcomes; data science; and predictive analytics. Priority will be given to candidates with a proven track record of competitive extramural funding. Candidates must have a PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent with postdoctoral training experience with a degree in public health, healthcare outcomes, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical sciences, or a related field. Expertise in artificial intelligence is also desirable. This is an in person, on campus position.

Job Description:
Position Title: Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor
Essential Functions:
• Serve as a research scholar, developing an independent, competitively funded research program focused or allied with drug or medication-related outcomes research, data analytics, or other focus area as outlined above.
• Duties associated with the research and scholarship role include:
- Develop a successful track record of scholarship, which includes peer-reviewed publications and competitive grantsmanship related to the areas listed above.
- Provide research mentorship to students, fellows, and other trainees.
• Serve as a faculty member who teaches or mentors graduate and professional students in the School of Pharmacy.
• Serve as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the Department of Pharmacy & Therapeutics through the following, additional duties, as assigned by the Department Chair:
- Participation in School committees (strategic planning, search committees, graduate committees)
- Representation of the program on department-, school-, and university-level committees and in community service activities
- Active participation in local, regional, and national professional organizations
- Other duties/tasks as assigned by the Department Chair.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Required:
§ A doctoral degree from an accredited university in pharmacy, medicine, public health, healthcare outcomes, engineering, or a related field.
§ Expertise drug or medication-related research.
§ An established track record of peer-reviewed publications and competitive grantsmanship
- Preferred:
§ Experience in teaching in professional and/or graduate programs
§ Priority will be given to candidates with a proven track record of competitive extramural funding.
§ Proficiency with artificial intelligence in research will also be viewed as valuable expertise.
Rank is commensurate with academic experience and credentials, with the following as a general guide:
- Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should have experience in clinical, transitional, or basic science research.
- Candidates at the Associate Professor level should have 6 or more years of experience in research and be able to demonstrate evidence of a significant record of substantial clinical, translational, or basic science research.
- Candidate at the Professor level should have 10 or more years of experience in research and be able to demonstrate an excellent national reputation, along with evidence of a significant record of substantial clinical, translational, or basic science research.
