This part-time role focuses on evaluating wastewater discharges and developing practical, technically defensible pretreatment requirements.
You will assess existing and anticipated discharge conditions across current and future commercial operations.
The position combines wastewater compliance expertise, field investigation, sampling, laboratory-data interpretation, and engineering analysis.
Your work will help identify pollutants of concern and assess potential impacts on collection and treatment systems.
You will contribute to the development of local limits, management practices, and future pretreatment requirements.
The role requires strong knowledge of environmental regulations, particularly the Clean Water Act, alongside excellent documentation and communication skills.
This opportunity also involves facility inspections and may require access to secured government facilities and IT networks.

• Review existing wastewater monitoring, operational, and environmental data to evaluate current and anticipated discharge conditions.

• Conduct or support limited site investigations and targeted wastewater sampling at key discharge locations.

• Analyze laboratory results and other technical information to identify pollutants of concern and evaluate potential environmental and operational impacts.

• Perform engineering evaluations that support the development of practical and defensible wastewater pretreatment requirements.

• Develop recommendations for local limits and management practices tailored to current and anticipated wastewater conditions.

• Support the preparation and refinement of future pretreatment requirements based on technical findings and regulatory obligations.

• Author and review environmental compliance management plans, work instructions, policies, procedures, and related technical documentation.

• Apply applicable wastewater, stormwater, drinking water, health, safety, and environmental compliance standards to assigned activities.

• Organize technical findings and communicate recommendations clearly to relevant stakeholders.

• Conduct inspections across multiple buildings and facilities as required.

• Support environmental compliance activities associated with government contracts and secured facilities when applicable.

• Minimum of 20 years of professional experience in wastewater, stormwater, and drinking water regulatory compliance management.

• Strong working knowledge of the Clean Water Act and its application to wastewater and environmental compliance.

• Demonstrated experience interpreting laboratory analyses and technical data from water samples.

• Experience evaluating wastewater discharge characteristics, pollutants of concern, and potential impacts on collection or treatment systems.

• Ability to develop, author, and review environmental compliance management plans, work instructions, policies, procedures, and related documentation.

• Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical environmental requirements clearly.

• Experience working with government contracts is preferred.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and project teams.

• Ability to walk, stand, and perform inspections across multiple buildings and facilities.

• Ability to lift and move supplies or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.

• Ability to obtain required clearance for access to applicable government facilities and IT networks.
