About the role

We are seeking experienced and motivated Cable Jointers, Network Electricians, and Line Mechanics to join our team based in Matamata, supporting Powerco's Valley Network.

In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, upgrading and expanding critical electricity infrastructure, helping ensure safe and reliable power supply to customers and communities throughout the region.

Key responsibilities

• Construct overhead and underground HV and LV network assets
• Install and commission transformers, switchgear, RMUs and associated equipment
• Carry out testing and commissioning activities
• Complete work documentation accurately and to a high standard
• Maintain a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance
• Work collaboratively with customers, contractors and colleagues

About you

You are a safety-focused electrical professional who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and thrives in a team environment. You bring a positive attitude, strong technical capability and a commitment to excellent customer outcomes.

Ideally you'll have

• Registered Electrician, Cable Jointer or Line Mechanic qualification
• Experience working on electricity distribution networks
• Knowledge of HV/LV equipment, transformers, switchgear and underground cable systems
• Current NZ Driver Licence (Class 2 or 4 advantageous)
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• A genuine commitment to safety and industry best practice
