Responsibilities
As a Survey Geomatics Technician, you will generate and check geomatics data relative to the construction processes of civil works projects. You are capable of 3D modeling proposed designs and processing 3D and 2D feature elements from LiDAR/Remote Sensing, field collection, plans, and other document data into accurate and precise CAD drawings to DOT standards.
You will report to the Project Manager and perform technical tasks utilizing the latest technology in the A/E/C industry. You will help increase construction survey project efficiency and client satisfaction by:
Corridor and Civil Works Projects
- Vertical & Layout Control
- Establishing construction elevations and vertical controls
- Developing and checking layout data for buildings, bridges, walls, utilities, clearing limits, easements, and Right of Way
- Drainage & Paving
- Developing and checking surface drainage layouts, including structure locations, top/inlet/outlet grades, and drainage slopes
- Developing and checking paving grades for base stone, asphalt, concrete curb, sidewalks, and other paving elements
- 3D Modeling
- Developing and reviewing 3D digital models of construction plans
- Modeling bridges, retaining walls, and surface drainage systems
- Verifying drainage structure locations and elevations against the 3D model
- Construction Support
- Generating data collector files for survey field crews
- Developing retaining wall envelopes
- Calculating construction volumes
- Quality assurance and control
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience required
- Strong computer and technical skills; Microstation or Bentley Roadway applications and Trimble Business Center is required; AutoCAD, Revit or similar application is a plus
- Proficiency in technical math; Geometry and Trigonometry are a plus
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company MVR standards, clean background check and drug screening
