This multifaceted program spans 24/7/365 Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring, advanced threat intelligence, forensics, incident response, cloud and network security engineering, zero trust modernization, vulnerability assessment, and enterprise-wide risk and compliance activities. The Network Security Engineer Junior will support teams at the forefront of national security, supporting sophisticated cyber operations that defend vital systems, enable secure mission execution, and counter rapidly evolving threats. The likely salary range for this position is $85,425 - $115,575. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

- Manage and maintain network security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPN solutions, and network access control (NAC).
- Analyze existing network security architectures and develop solutions to mitigate threats, vulnerabilities, and emerging risks.
- Monitor network security events, investigate anomalies or incidents, and recommend corrective actions.
- Implement security enhancements to strengthen the organization's overall defensive posture.
- Develop, document, and maintain network security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with IT, security operations, and infrastructure teams to support secure network design and operations.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on network or security engineering experience.
- Experience with enterprise-grade firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and NAC tools.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, architecture, and security best practices.
- Experience monitoring and responding to security incidents.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS)..
- Preferred certifications:
- CompTIA Security+
- CCNA or CCNA Security
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree preferred in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on network or security engineering experience.
- Previous or Current CBP Background Investigation desired.
