Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Property Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of residential properties. You will be responsible for performing a variety of janitorial and light maintenance tasks to ensure the property is well-maintained, safe, and aesthetically pleasing for residents and visitors. Your attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness will contribute to creating a positive living or working environment for occupants.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Janitorial Duties:

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in common areas, hallways, lobbies, and other high-traffic areas.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including countertops, handrails, doors, and light fixtures.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas, replacing trash bags as needed.

Exterior Maintenance:

  • Maintain cleanliness of exterior areas, including sidewalks, walkways, parking lots, and landscaping.
  • Remove debris, litter, and leaves from outdoor spaces, ensuring a tidy and well-maintained appearance.
  • Report any exterior maintenance issues, such as broken lights, damaged landscaping, or graffiti, to the property management team.
  • Assist with snow removal.

Assistance with Preparing Apartments for Move-In Ready Condition:

  • Prepare vacant units for new occupants, performing basic cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure units are move-in ready.

Safety and Security:

  • Monitor property premises for any safety hazards or security concerns, such as slippery floors, broken glass, or unauthorized individuals.
  • Report any safety or security incidents to the property management team immediately for appropriate action.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic understanding of safety and security procedures.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the property.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
