Public Sector Account Director

This is a high-impact, senior-level sales role focused on driving strategic growth within the State, Local, and Government (SLG) sector. The position is responsible for developing deep relationships with public sector leaders, navigating complex procurement environments, and closing enterprise-level SaaS deals that support large-scale workforce and talent initiatives. The role operates at the intersection of consultative selling, strategic account management, and public sector expertise, requiring strong executive presence and the ability to engage with senior government stakeholders.
You will own the full sales cycle—from pipeline generation to contract execution—while shaping tailored solutions that address mission-critical hiring and workforce challenges across agencies and departments.
This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with internal teams across product, legal, and go-to-market functions to deliver scalable enterprise agreements.
You will be expected to lead executive briefings, facilitate strategic discussions, and represent the organization at industry events.
The role is ideal for a driven public sector sales leader who thrives in complex deal environments and is motivated by impact at national scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with senior government executives across SLG agencies and departments.
  • Drive full-cycle sales execution, from lead generation and pipeline development to negotiation and deal closure.
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue quotas by generating high-value opportunities and expanding enterprise-wide agreements.
  • Navigate complex public sector procurement processes, contracting structures, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead executive-level meetings, presentations, proposals, and roundtables with key public sector stakeholders.
  • Build scalable pipeline strategies and execute targeted outreach to expand market penetration.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align product offerings, pricing, and solutions with public sector needs.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, events, and industry forums to generate new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives supporting broader go-to-market strategy and growth objectives.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise SaaS sales, specifically within the State, Local, or Government (SLG) sector.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota through closing six-figure and enterprise-level deals.
  • Strong understanding of US government procurement processes, contracting frameworks, and acquisition cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with senior public sector decision-makers.
  • Experience selling complex, enterprise-wide solutions into large government departments or agencies.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage long, complex sales cycles and contract structures.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in executive-level settings.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional go-to-market teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking, account planning, and pipeline development capabilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools such as Salesforce for managing pipeline and forecasting activity.
