Job Description
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traditional Korean cuisine, ingredients, cooking techniques, and cultural food presentation standards. Because this role works closely with Korean menus, recipes, and customer requirements, familiarity with Korean cuisine, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare authentic Korean dishes and specialty menu items according to approved recipes and customer specifications.
Produce large quantities of hot and cold food items for both domestic and international airline flights.
Ensure all meals are prepared accurately and delivered according to production schedules and kitchen ready times.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portioning, and presentation of all Korean cuisine items.
Monitor food quality and ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
Read, interpret, and execute Korean recipes, menu specifications, and production instructions.
Utilize knowledge of traditional Korean ingredients, seasonings, and cooking techniques to prepare authentic dishes.
Assist with menu changes, recipe updates, and new product introductions as needed.
Follow all FDA, HACCP, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
Monitor and document food temperatures and complete all required production and food safety records.
Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure meals are completed on schedule and ready for flight departures.
Assist in inventory management by properly utilizing ingredients and minimizing food waste.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and maintain high-quality standards.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Culinary degree, culinary certification, or formal culinary training preferred.
Ability to read, write, and speak Korean is preferred but not required.
Experience in airline catering or large-scale food manufacturing environments.
Experience preparing meals for international customers or multicultural food service operations.
Previous experience working with standardized recipes and high-volume food production systems.
