Job Description
Sales and Marketing Advisor (SMA)
Job Description: Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, the SMA will be responsible for promoting ABC Auto Parts as a total resource provider with a value added program, including automotive parts, equipment, marketing programs and shop management technology for current and potential customers. The SMA will “surprise each customer with exceptional service” to achieve annual sales goals and maximizing profitability through a relationship that is built on trust and hard work. The SMA will achieve desired results by executing these core roles.
Core Roles:
Sales / Profit:
· Plans and achieves annual market growth from current and new business
· Plans and execute a sufficient volume of quality sales calls per week
· Provides adequate time and planning for finding and developing new accounts within all markets
· Focus on “All Classes of Business” strategy to drive sales in assigned markets
· Partners with CSA, Managers and store personnel to develop a sales strategy for each market with a strong focus on meeting our customers’ needs and gaining market share
· Ensure an adequate amount of time is scheduled to proactively evaluate all customers and their needs to grow our business with them or to grow the customer’s business
· Utilizes both the “Auto Value Certified Service Center, and AC Delco Professional Service Center” programs to target sales growth from an individual account based on a complete account analysis
· Utilizes Vendor Reps for sales opportunities, training, diagnosing, and troubleshooting account issues and concerns
· Capitalizes on all opportunities to be a “single source provider” to new and existing customers with our products, promotions, programs and technology
· Promotes and increases utilization of all available software/online tools to customers
· Uses all reports and tools that are available and functions well with Microsoft Excel and Data Warehouse PartInsight utilizing our new coding Taxonomy to drive sales with comprehensive account analysis
Team:
· Recognizes employees in each territory for contributions
· Follows all policies and implements and shares new procedures in regards to handling customer issues or concerns
· Willing to participates in monthly store meetings and annual store inventories if requested
· Completes all assigned administrative duties as directed by Sales and Marketing Director
· Maintains a strong partnership with CSA, Managers, Store personnel and office support team
· Follows company dress code (business casual, or business dress if applicable)
· Represents ABC Auto Parts “core values” at all times in all dealings
· Attends all training classes, meetings, and company functions as directed
· Willing to share successful market strategies with team members and willing to reach out to team members regarding market or account challenges you may be experiencing for their insights
Safety:
· Personal or Assigned company vehicle is clean and maintained in good working order
· Reports all service work, or vehicle issues immediately to Sales and Marketing Director if provided a company vehicle
· Follows ABC Auto Parts accident reporting guidelines
· Reports any unsafe situation or working habits / condition
· Drives in a safe manner that reflects ABC’s standards as laid out in the safety manual and is aware of and follows the company’s distracted driving policy
Qualifications: Must have the ability to lead a large group of employees to achieve desired results. Must have leadership, influencing, and training skills. Will be required to interact with all levels of the company and customers, including senior leadership. Must possess excellent customer service skills, and be able to lift over 40lbs routinely.
