| Physical Requirements | This position requires regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds. |

| Job Summary | The Patient Access Representative is responsible for patient registration; resolution of patient complaints; collection and verification of demographic and insurance/payer source information; correction of registration errors; collection of patient-responsibility payments at time of service (copays, co-insurance, self-pay estimates) as well as maintaining compliance with HIPPA and all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. This position will also participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. Add: Effective 7/1/2026, this position will report through the Enterprise Revenue Cycle department in Beyond Blue. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient registration and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality. |

| Preferred Education/Experience | Associate degree and at least four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient registration highly preferred. |
