Job Description

Installation Lead (Bilingual) – Lutek Shading Systems

Lutek Shading Systems is a premier manufacturer and installer of custom architectural shading solutions. We specialize in delivering high-quality, innovative products for commercial and residential projects. As our field operations team continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and driven Bilingual Installation Lead to join our talented crew.

Position Summary

The Installation Lead directs, controls, and oversees field installation activities for assigned projects. This role serves as the primary point of contact between field crews, Project Managers, General Contractors, and the Head of Installation. The Installation Lead is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to Lutek’s high quality standards.

This role requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, as the Installation Lead will manage and communicate directly with a Spanish-speaking contractor crew. Familiarity with Venezuelan Spanish is a strong plus.

Career Progression & Growth Path

This position follows a structured onboarding path designed to set every Installation Lead up for long-term success:

  • Months 1–6: Installer Role: All new hires begin as a regular Installer. This period builds hands-on familiarity with Lutek’s full product line (manual and motorized shades, blinds, draperies, and exterior structures) across commercial and residential project types.
  • Month 6+: Installation Lead Promotion: Upon successful completion of the onboarding period and demonstrated proficiency, the employee transitions into the Installation Lead role with a corresponding increase in pay and responsibilities.
  • Ongoing advancement opportunities are available as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Competent in the technical responsibilities of Installation Technician I, II, and III.
  • Perform and document accurate field measures for window openings and project sites.
  • Serve as the primary field point of contact for assigned projects; provide regular schedule updates to Project Managers.
  • Direct and oversee daily activities of Installation Technicians I, II, and III.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, GC Superintendents, and the manufacturing team to track job progress and align installation schedules.
  • Prepare daily schedules, paperwork, and equipment needs for each installation team.
  • Ensure crews load and depart on time each morning (within 15–20 minutes).
  • Review production paperwork and submittals to verify work is completed per contract.
  • Update job status daily in company project management software.
  • Lead QA walkthroughs following project completion.
  • Manage punch work within contract timeframes; escalate liquidated damages or back charges to the Head of Installation immediately.
  • Stay current on window covering systems, construction methods, and installation best practices.
  • Develop and train installation team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues including motorized system diagnostics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience installing commercial window coverings (shades, blinds, draperies, motorized systems). Some experience may be traded off for advanced training or construction experience.
  • Bilingual required — English and Spanish. Familiarity with Venezuelan Spanish is a strong plus, as our contractor team primarily communicates in this dialect.
  • Proven ability to lead a crew on commercial construction sites.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, manufacturer specs, and field measures.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with computers and project tracking software.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs; climb ladders and scaffolding safely.
  • Spider lift, scissor lift, and height access certification required (or willingness to obtain).

  • Potential to be allocated a company vehicle upon promotion to Installation Lead at 6 months.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid time off and holidays.

Work Environment

  • Work schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM, with some Fridays on call.

  • Full-time position.
