The RV Furniture Upholsterer is responsible for repairing, rebuilding, and upholstering furniture and interior components in recreational vehicles (RVs). This position requires experience working with a variety of fabrics, vinyl, leather, foam, and wood structures while maintaining factory-quality standards. The RV Furniture Upholsterer works closely with the service department to restore or customize furniture to meet customer expectations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Repair, recover, and reupholster RV furniture, including sofas, dinettes, recliners, captain's chairs, headboards, and cushions.
• Remove damaged upholstery and inspect frames, springs, and foam for needed repairs.
• Measure, cut, sew, and install upholstery materials including vinyl, leather, fabric, and specialty RV materials.
• Replace foam, batting, webbing, springs, and other cushioning components as needed.
• Repair or rebuild wooden furniture frames and structural components when required.
• Match existing fabrics and patterns whenever possible to maintain the original appearance.
• Perform custom upholstery modifications and customer-requested upgrades.
• Operate industrial sewing machines and upholstery tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Document repairs and communicate with service advisors regarding job status and additional repair needs.
• Follow all company safety policies and manufacturer specifications.

Requirements

• Knowledge of upholstery materials, adhesives, foam products, and repair techniques.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and move heavy furniture safely.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Produce repairs that meet or exceed manufacturer and dealership quality standards.
• Complete assigned work within established labor time guidelines.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through quality craftsmanship.
