Janitorial Staff
Location: McCowan Aquatics & Recreation Center – DeSoto, TX

Unica Enterprises is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, responsible individual to join our team as a Team Lead. The Team Lead plays a hands-on leadership role by helping the crew complete work to standard, supporting new and existing team members on shift, and serving as the first point of coordination for day-to-day site needs. This role is typically a promotion path from frontline cleaning work and is best suited for someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and is ready to help others succeed while maintaining quality and pace.
A successful Team Lead:
- Completes strong hands-on work while also guiding others
- Helps the team stay organized, on pace, and aligned to site expectations
- Supports new hires through shadowing and day-to-day coaching
- Checks work quality and helps correct issues in the moment
- Escalates concerns early instead of waiting for problems to grow
- Builds trust through fairness, consistency, and follow-through
Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example by completing cleaning work alongside the crew
- Help assign tasks based on the shift plan, site priorities, and team capability
- Support daily start-up, huddles, and shift communication as directed
- Train and coach newer team members on cleaning methods, safety, quality standards, and site routines
- Check completed work and give immediate feedback when corrections are needed
- Help monitor supplies, equipment readiness, and site setup during the shift
- Communicate customer requests, safety issues, staffing gaps, or quality concerns to the supervisor or site manager
- Help maintain positive team culture, respectful communication, and reliable shift coverage
- Support special assignments, callout coverage, and site changes when needed
Compensation & Benefits
- $15.75 per hour

Minimum Qualifications
- Strong performance in a custodial or related cleaning role
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and quality follow-through
- Ability to coach peers respectfully and clearly
- Ability to handle shift pressure, changing priorities, and customer-facing situations
- Experience training or informally supporting newer staff preferred
- Ability to work assigned shifts, including nights or weekends if needed
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Regular hands-on cleaning work in addition to coordination responsibilities
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- May be required to wear a uniform and use PPE
- May oversee work across multiple shifts or site areas, depending on assignment
