Position Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and reliability of the RNG plant. This role oversees daily plant operations, supervises Plant Operators and the Plant Supervisor, and ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all plant systems. The Plant Manager leads preventive and corrective maintenance programs, responds to operational upsets, and drives continuous improvement across the facility. The position serves as the primary operational liaison with the Area Plant Manager, corporate teams, vendors, and regulatory agencies. The Plant Manager is accountable for plant output, compliance, cost control, and the development of plant personnel, ensuring clear progression through operator and supervisory levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all plant operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance
  • Supervise Plant Operators (Levels 1–3), providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations
  • Lead response to plant upsets, emergencies, and callouts, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime
  • Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability
  • Review and approve redlined P&IDs, SOP updates, and technical documentation
  • Lead safety meetings, identify near misses, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards
  • Collaborate with FP&A and corporate teams on variance reporting, budget forecasting, and financial performance analysis
  • Monitor operating expenses (Opex) and implement cost‑control measures
  • Serve as primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, corporate leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Provide monthly metrics reporting to leadership, including production, safety, and financial metrics
  • Promote teamwork and morale, managing diverse personalities and maintaining cohesiveness across shifts
  • Support workforce development, ensuring employees progress through operator levels and meet competency requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of field/plant operations experience, preferably in RNG, industrial gas, or related industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in [ field/plant ] operations and interest in developing others.
  • Ability to lead activities, solve problems, and make sound, independent decisions under pressure Ability to train and support field employees through operational changes.
  • Strong communication skills; comfortable speaking in public settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Area and Region teams.
  • Ability to manage applicable administrative responsibilities (budgets, timecards, etc.)
  • Experience managing employee performance including discipline documentation.
  • Able to accurately interpret, communicate and train SOP and procedure requirements.
  • Proficiency in applicable control system(s)
  • Proficiency in safety management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret Plant SOPs and train others
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex plant upsets and restore operations independently
  • Ability to manage vendor contracts and third‑party services effectively
  • Must be at least 18 years old, with HS diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record
  • Clear background check and drug test
  • Effective communication skills with ability to lead diverse teams
  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to work extended hours when required
  • Physical ability to navigate plant facilities, including confined spaces, and exposure to extreme weather conditions

Work Environment & Travel

Work Location:

This position is based at the Plant site

Schedule/Shift:

  • Typical shifts may extend beyond 10 – 12 hours depending on operational needs
  • Must be available for rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts
  • Requires flexibility to respond to operational and leadership demands outside of standard hours
