Job Description

Senior Engineer, Airframe Stress Analysis

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineer, Airframe Stress Analysis based in United States.

This role sits at the forefront of next-generation aerospace innovation, focused on the structural integrity of advanced, fuel-efficient aircraft. The engineer will contribute to the design and validation of cutting-edge airframe structures using both classical and finite element analysis methods. Operating within a highly collaborative engineering environment, the role blends deep technical stress analysis with real-world certification and testing requirements. You will play a key part in ensuring safety, durability, and performance across metallic and composite structures. The position involves close interaction with design, manufacturing, and regulatory stakeholders. It is ideal for an engineer who thrives in first-principles thinking and high-impact aerospace development programs.

Accountabilities:
  • Perform detailed stress analysis of metallic and composite airframe structures, ensuring compliance with strength, durability, and certification requirements, while supporting overall aircraft design integrity.
  • Develop, validate, and utilize finite element models (FEM) and classical analysis methods to assess structural performance under static, fatigue, and damage tolerance conditions.
  • Author, review, and approve engineering stress reports, analysis documentation, and structural test plans, ensuring technical rigor and traceability across the development lifecycle.
  • Compare test results against analytical models and refine structural assumptions to improve accuracy and alignment between simulation and physical testing outcomes.
  • Support certification activities under FAR Part 23 requirements, contributing to regulatory compliance and airworthiness substantiation efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including materials, manufacturing, flight test, and certification authorities to support integrated aircraft development.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of tools, methodologies, and best practices for structural analysis.
Requirements

This role requires strong expertise in aerospace structural engineering, with hands-on experience in stress analysis and aircraft certification environments. Candidates should bring a solid foundation in both analytical methods and modern simulation tools, along with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent); advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in airframe stress analysis, including metallic and composite structures, with exposure to fatigue and durability assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and classical stress analysis techniques, with experience using industry tools such as CATIA and ENOVIA.
  • Experience preparing stress reports, engineering documentation, and supporting non-conformance dispositions in aerospace programs.
  • Familiarity with FAR Part 23 certification processes and structural design requirements for certified aircraft.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail in high-complexity engineering environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Proactive, self-driven mindset with strong organizational and teamwork capabilities.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary with eligibility for performance-based bonuses and potential equity participation
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Retirement savings plan (401(k))
  • Paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and holidays
  • Short-term disability coverage and optional long-term disability and life insurance
  • Opportunities for professional growth, training, and career development in advanced aerospace programs
  • Remote-first setup initially, with structured travel to Fort Worth, Texas, United States and future relocation to Jacksonville, Florida, United States after facility readiness.
