HR Assistant
Location: Dayton, OH (On-site)
Department: Human Resources
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay: $40k to $50k
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
About Woodhaven:
Woodhaven Residential Treatment Center provides compassionate care for individuals on their recovery journey. We are seeking an HR Assistant to support our Human Resources team with onboarding, compliance, recordkeeping, and employee engagement.
Job Overview:
The HR Assistant provides essential administrative and operational support to the HR department. You will coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation, maintain HR systems and databases, conduct compliance audits, process credentialing applications, and serve as a first point of contact for HR inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage new hire onboarding including I-9 verification, training assignments, and orientation sessions
Maintain and update HRIS system (Paychex) with employee data and changes
Conduct monthly compliance audits (license verification, CPR tracking, exclusionary checks)
Support recruitment including resume screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks
Process credentialing applications for licensed staff (NPI, Medicaid, CAQH)
Maintain organized digital and physical personnel files
Coordinate training administration through LMS - assign trainings, track completion, send reminders
Support employee offboarding including exit interviews and property collection
Answer routine HR questions from employees and candidates
Plan employee engagement activities through Employee Engagement Committee
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in HR or Business preferred
1-2 years administrative, clerical, or customer service experience
Previous HR or healthcare experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with HRIS systems (Paychex or similar) preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Valid Ohio driver's license
CPR certification required (company-sponsored)
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
