JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Press Brake Operator at Sytech will be responsible for setup and run several types of Amada and Hurco press brake machines under the direction of the Brake Press Lead and Brake Press Supervisor, which is vital to our production of our products for our customers. We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual who is willing to be a valued member of our team. This is a very unique position and we require this individual to be flexible and willing to keep the customers in mind at all times; while maintaining Quality of Workmanship, Safety, Accountability, and Teamwork, which is vital to our mission.
The individual in this position will review work orders, manufacturing drawings and set-up sheets, select proper forming tools, set-up machine and produce a test piece to qualify correct setup with Quality Management. The Press Brake Operator will work within quality guidelines to ensure that formed parts are compliant to customer requirements.
The position will assist in the development and improvement of company operating procedure under its Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Program.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Set-up and operate several types of Press Brake machine Amanda and Hurco
- Tear down previous set-ups
- Reviews set-up instructions and manufacturing drawings, Reviews work orders
- Perform advanced set-up and forming techniques such as front gauging, using back-up material, and bump forming
- Produces test pieces to qualify correct setup to Quality Management.
- Request engineering support in the event of missing/discrepant documentation
- Monitors machine operation and display readouts to detect malfunctions.
- Notifies Brake Press Lead or Brake Press Supervisor of machine malfunctions
- Perform inspection and measurements to verify part conformance to manufacturing drawing
- Establishes and maintains safe operations by adhering to procedures and policies
- work within quality guidelines to ensure that formed parts are compliant to customer requirements
- Assists in the development and modification of current lean manufacturing practices, to streamline forming processes and maximize efficiencies
- Perform additional responsibilities as are within the scope of the position as directed from time to time
- Perform quality checks on machined parts using tape measure and calipers
- Troubleshoot during production run to maintain quality throughout
- Parts clean up
- Fork-lift operation
- Overtime when necessary and needed

Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour (non-exempt)

Requirements:Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Must have previous Press Brake forming experience and understanding of manufacturing processes
- 1+ years minimum Press Brake experience
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with others
- Must have ability to solve practical problems
- Must be able to prioritize work and coordinate multiple tasks within constraints of the position
- Understand, comply, and enforce safety standards
- Self–managed; Team player
- Must be able to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Basic Math Skills and ability to read and write English
- Open to learning other processes; i.e., Hardware, Riveting, Weld
Physical Demands:
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
- Competent in shop math skills including the ability to perform measurement conversion; ability to understand geometric tolerances
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize daily work assignments
- Correctable vision and hearing
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, hear, talk, bend waist and neck, squat, twist neck and waist, use hands to grasp, manipulate, push, pull and reach, and lift-up to 40 lbs
- Ability to maneuver successfully through a 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
- Flexible to work shift, depending on overtime needs
- Works with others in cells doing multiple processes
Environmental Exposure:
- Manufacturing metal fabrication environment.
- Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as machinery, forklifts and carts.
- Exposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).
- Contact with metals, paints, lubricants, and solvents.
