This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Workday Engineer (Techno-Functional Lead) based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of HR systems ownership, technical integration engineering, and business process optimization, serving as a key driver of Workday stability and evolution across the organization. You will take full ownership of the Workday ecosystem, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while also delivering scalable enhancements and automation initiatives. The position blends hands-on configuration with deep technical integration work, requiring both functional HR systems knowledge and engineering capability. You will collaborate closely with teams across People Operations, Finance, Payroll, IT, and Engineering to translate business needs into effective system solutions. A key part of the role involves improving system performance, reducing manual effort, and ensuring Workday evolves in line with organizational growth. The environment is fast-paced, cross-functional, and highly impact-driven, with strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement. This is a remote-based opportunity for a professional who thrives in owning complex systems end-to-end.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and manage day-to-day Workday HCM operations, including business processes, reporting, and resolution of system issues across the employee lifecycle.
  • Design, build, and maintain Workday integrations with internal and external systems such as payroll, finance, and IT platforms.
  • Configure and optimize Workday modules to support evolving business needs while ensuring system integrity and scalability.
  • Identify inefficiencies and drive automation initiatives to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, Engineering) to gather requirements and deliver system solutions.
  • Support Workday bi-annual releases, including testing, validation, documentation, and deployment of new features.
  • Troubleshoot complex system and data issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
  • Enhance reporting and analytics capabilities within Workday to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure system configurations align with best practices and organizational standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and long-term Workday roadmap development.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday experience across configuration and integrations.
  • Strong expertise in Workday HCM and multiple modules such as Core HCM, Reporting, Advanced Compensation, Talent & Performance, Time Tracking, and Learning.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining Workday integrations (e.g., APIs, EIBs, Workday Studio, or similar tools).
  • Strong ability to own Workday operations while also delivering technical enhancements end-to-end.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system and data issues independently.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across HR, Finance, IT, and Engineering teams.
  • Ability to manage system releases, testing cycles, and change management processes.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and system accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in fast-paced, scaling environments is highly valued.
Benefits:
  • Competitive annual salary range: $120,000 – $150,000
  • Equity package with long-term ownership opportunities
  • Performance-based equity bonus program
  • Unlimited PTO for flexible work-life balance
  • Remote-first or hybrid work flexibility
  • Private healthcare coverage for employees and families
  • Enhanced parental leave policies
  • Annual learning and development budget
  • Home office setup and remote work allowances
  • Access to company product benefits and fee-free crypto transactions
  • Employee referral rewards program
  • Regular offsites, hackathons, and team collaboration events
  • Inclusive, high-performance culture focused on innovation and excellence
