Job Summary

A housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and organized environment. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize rooms, hallways, offices, mill bathrooms, scale houses or assigned areas
• Dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
• Vacuum carpets and mop floors
• Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and mirrors
• Dispose of trash and recyclables properly
• Restock supplies such as toiletries, soap, and paper products
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards
• Follow health and safety regulations
• Handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely

Skills and Qualifications

• Attention to detail and cleanliness
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Good time management skills
• Physical stamina (standing, bending, lifting)
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment
• Communication skills (basic level)
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (preferred but not always required)

Working Conditions

• May involve long hours on feet
• Exposure to heat, cold and rain
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals
• Work in shifts, including weekends or holidays

Safety

• Follow all area/machine center specific safety regulations
• Wear all required personal protective equipment: hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc…as required
• Do not enter restricted areas
• Follow all other safety regulations as set forth by the company
