Purpose:
The Operations Specialist I will perform legal support tasks and be responsible for entering data into firm databases. Knowledge of foreclosure process is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a high-volume work environment and will have the ability to adapt to change easily.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with a team and individually to perform legal support tasks as directed by supervisory staff;
- Review and enter data accurately into several database systems;
- Prepare case documents and other legal forms for client review or court filing;
- Process cases and assist attorneys and managerial staff with managing case files;
- Comply with firm and client compliance and timeline requirements;
- Reviewing affidavits and legal documents for accuracy and compliance, requiring attention to detail
- Drafting of court filings daily for attorney review;
- Filing documents with the courts (electronically or in paper format depending on jurisdiction) in MD and DC;
- Prepare and send for recording documents in land records
- Update various client systems during the life of the case file;
- Communicate both internally and externally with clients pertaining to case files;
- Support attorneys in assigned division with processing legal documents and managing client requirements;
- Retrieve and log division mail and scan to the appropriate party;
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous Foreclosure experience preferred.
- Prior data entry experience.
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be punctual and have good, consistent attendance.
- Must be a team player and willing to offer assistance when required.
- Must use good judgment and be courteous and tactful in communication with clients and employees/supervisors.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellent computer and organizational skills, and be able to multitask;
- Must be comfortable working in a high-volume environment and fixed deadlines;
- Ability to analyze customer accounts;
- Previous mortgage servicing, real estate, or law firm experience a plus;
- Previous experience with the Maryland and DC Court’s electronic filing system a plus.
- Must be able to work a remote/hybrid schedule.
