CMM / Keyence Programmer & Receiving Inspector in Tucson, Arizona at Abrams Airborne Manufacturing Inc

Every part we ship goes onto an aircraft, and every one of them passes through our quality team first. We're looking for a precision-minded inspector who likes the whole job: writing a CMM program from scratch, working through a tricky datum scheme, and catching the cert that doesn't match the heat number before it becomes someone else's problem.

This is a hybrid role. Part of your day is programming and running CMM and Keyence systems on complex machined aerospace components. The rest is receiving inspection, where you're the checkpoint for everything that comes through our doors.

What you'll do

Program, run, and troubleshoot CMM and Keyence vision systems, and build new inspection programs from drawings, CAD models, and customer requirements
Choose the inspection method, alignment, and measurement strategy that fits each part's geometry and GD&T
Perform first article, in-process, final, and source inspections
Inspect incoming material, purchased parts, and outside processing against drawings, POs, and specs
Review material certs, CoCs, and special-process certifications, and verify traceability down to the lot and heat number
Identify and segregate nonconforming material and support NCRs
Spot dimensional trends and work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to fix problems at the source

What you bring

Experience in CMM programming or operation, Keyence measurement, or precision dimensional inspection
Receiving or incoming inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
Solid GD&T knowledge and the ability to read aerospace engineering drawings
Comfort with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and pin gauges
The judgment to tell whether a discrepancy comes from the part, the fixture, the method, or the machine
Strong documentation habits and the ability to work accurately without close supervision

Bonus points for

Aerospace manufacturing and AS9100 experience
First article inspection per AS9102
PC-DMIS, Calypso, MODUS, MCOSMOS, or similar CMM software
Keyence VR, XM, or other Keyence systems
Experience with MBD, ERP/MRP, and electronic QMS
Familiarity with MRB, corrective action, and supplier quality processes

The environment

This is a hands-on shop-floor role. You'll be on your feet and moving between inspection and manufacturing areas, handling small detailed parts and occasionally lifting heavier ones within safety guidelines. Expect some machine noise and temperature variation.
