Delivery Driver
Food & Supply Distribution
Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Summary
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the timely, safe, and professional delivery of food products and supplies to company restaurants and bakeries. This role ensures deliveries meet company standards for quality, safety, and customer service while complying with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
The Delivery Driver works closely with commissary and restaurant staff to support efficient operations and maintain the company’s high standards for service and product integrity.
Essential Responsibilities, Duties & Accountabilities
The core duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Delivery & Operations
• Perform timely and accurate deliveries to designated restaurant and bakery locations
• Load and unload delivery vehicles and assist with inventory and stocking as directed
• Work closely with commissary staff to ensure only high-quality food and supplies are delivered
• Assist with restocking and replenishment of products and supplies at delivery locations
Vehicle Safety & Maintenance
• Operate company vehicles safely and courteously at all times
• Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly vehicle, removing trash and debris routinely
• Report vehicle maintenance or safety concerns to management promptly
Customer Service & Professionalism
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with coworkers, vendors, and the public
• Support positive relationships with restaurant teams and the community
• Assist with cross-functional duties as needed to ensure service continuity and coverage
Safety, Cash Handling & Incident Response
• Follow all safety and security protocols to protect customers, coworkers, and the public
• Handle money responsibly and reconcile all funds accurately at the end of each shift
• In the event of a vehicle accident, immediately contact law enforcement, follow instructions, and notify management as soon as possible
Policies, Training & Compliance
• Comply with all company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and departmental checklists
• Follow all required opening, closing, safety, and cleaning checklists
• Successfully complete all required training programs (in-person, video, or classroom)
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Vehicle & Driving Rules
The Delivery Driver must comply with all applicable state laws and company driving policies, including but not limited to:
• No texting or use of mobile devices while operating a vehicle
• No distracted driving
• No unauthorized passengers in company vehicles
• No eating or smoking in company vehicles
• No personal use of company vehicles or personal errands without prior management approval
• Maintain vehicles free of refuse and debris at all times
Position Requirements & Qualifications
Age, Licensing & Experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid, current driver’s license
• Driving record with no more than four (4) points, in accordance with company policy
• Prior delivery driving experience preferred
• Knowledge of local driving routes and delivery areas
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of food safety practices and possession of a current food handling permit; ServSafe certification as directed
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to address concerns tactfully and professionally
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
• Dependable, professional demeanor with good judgment and attention to detail
Physical & Scheduling Requirements
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Continuous use of hands and arms with full range of motion and manual dexterity
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Ability to maintain regular, reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexible scheduling
