This role sits at the intersection of application security, identity engineering, and platform reliability within a fast-scaling, AI-powered technology environment. The Senior Security Engineer & Identity Engineer will be responsible for strengthening the security foundations of complex cloud-native systems while ensuring identity and access management is seamless, scalable, and secure. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to embed security directly into development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and system architecture. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will design secure authentication systems, reduce risk exposure, and improve overall security posture across the platform. The position also requires strong collaboration and influence skills, as you will guide teams toward secure-by-design practices without slowing innovation. It is ideal for someone who blends deep security expertise with strong software engineering capabilities and a proactive, systems-thinking mindset.
- Own and evolve identity and access management systems, including authentication, authorization, and machine-to-machine security across distributed platforms.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure authentication frameworks for internal tools and customer-facing applications.
- Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and secure build and deployment processes.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to embed security into system design, architecture reviews, and development workflows.
- Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities while clearly communicating risk and driving timely mitigation strategies.
- Build internal security tooling and automation to improve visibility, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Act as a trusted advisor, promoting secure engineering practices through mentorship, standards, and cross-team collaboration.
Requirements:
- 5–7+ years of experience in Security Engineering or Software Engineering with a strong security focus.
- Strong hands-on expertise in application security, infrastructure security, and secure CI/CD practices.
- Proven experience designing and operating identity and access management systems, including authentication and authorization frameworks.
- Experience applying security standards and frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, or CIS Controls in production environments.
- Familiarity with cloud security platforms and tools (AWS, Azure, or GCP security services), SIEM/SOAR solutions, and IaC security scanning tools.
- Experience supporting or contributing to compliance programs such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
- Strong software engineering background with familiarity in modern backend systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex security concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive security outcomes in fast-paced environments.
Benefits:
- Fully remote, US-based role with flexible work arrangements.
- Competitive salary aligned with experience and market benchmarks.
- Equity or stock options as part of the total compensation package.
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Wellness and mental health support programs and resources.
- Flexible time off and paid company holidays.
- Remote work stipend to support home office setup.
- Paid parental and bonding leave.
- Learning and development opportunities to support continuous growth.
