A key focus of this role is assessing the current application portfolio and developing a roadmap for future-state systems, including the evaluation of ERP and other core platforms. This role requires a blend of high-level architectural thinking and execution, managing a mix of internal talent and external partners to deliver scalable, integrated solutions across all levels of the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Define and maintain a comprehensive multi-year application roadmap that supports NREC’s growth, security, and operational efficiency for both office and field environments.
  2. Lead application architecture design, ensuring all systems (SaaS and custom) are scalable, secure, and interoperable across the enterprise.
  3. Establish governance and standards for application selection, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  4. Evaluate current business systems to identify gaps and opportunities for modernization, specifically focusing on bridging the gap between field-to-office workflows.
  5. Help lead the discovery and requirements-gathering phases for potential enterprise-scale system updates, including ERP and other core business applications.
  6. Conduct "build vs. buy" analyses to ensure technology investments provide maximum value and alignment with NREC’s specialized operational requirements.
  7. Develop and oversee a robust systems integration strategy to ensure seamless, real-time data flow between corporate SaaS platforms, field-based mobile tools, and custom applications.
  8. Manage the delivery and maintenance of custom-built applications, ensuring high-quality code and alignment with specialized business workflows.
  9. Establish best practices for API management and data integrity across the application portfolio.
  10. Identify and implement opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to automate workflows and accelerate the delivery of business applications.
  11. Build and lead a high-performing team capable of delivering integrated business systems through a strategic combination of internal and external resources.
  12. Manage relationships with external vendors and contract resources, ensuring quality delivery on time and within budget.
  13. Coordinate with external partners to ensure application performance aligns with organizational operational standards.
  14. Serve as a primary IT liaison, translating complex technical concepts into clear strategic updates for corporate leadership and field operations management.
  15. Partner with department heads to understand operational pain points and identify how technology can drive process improvements for employees regardless of their physical work location.
  16. Drive change management initiatives to ensure high adoption rates for any new system or process rollouts across the entire workforce.
